Awards      

 

Jhoe Stonestreet a PhD student from the Extrusion lab received the prestigious "AACC Intl. Charles Becker endowment" award for 2009-10.She will receive a $2,500 graduate fellowship.

 

Elisa Karkle a PhD student from the Extrusion lab received the Majel M. MacMasters Memorial Achievement Award. It is a  annual award in the amount of $1,000 to a graduate student entering the second year of a MS or PhD program with an emphasis in cereal chemistry. She had demonstrated exceptional academic and practical achievement and potential for superior professional service to cereal science or to the industry based thereon.

 

 Juhyun Yoo also a PhD student from the Extrusion lab presented a poster at the "Capital Graduate Research Summit" held at Topeka on March 12th.Her topic was "Novel Thermo-mechanical Pre-treatment of Lignocellulosic Biomass for Efficient Ethanol Production from Agricultural Residues." Her Co-authors were Dr.Sajid Alavi, Dr.Praveen Vadlani, Dr.Vincent Amanorboadu, Dr.Jarinder Singh Oberoi.She was one of the two students selected from K-state and received a $500 award.
